We are seeking a proactive and skilled Manager of Human Resources at Raken. The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee all aspects of our day-to-day HR and payroll operations. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of HR principles, exceptional leadership and teamwork skills, and a dedication to fostering a positive work environment.

Role Responsibilities:

 

Human Resources Administration:

  • Manage HR administrative functions, including payroll, benefits administration, and record-keeping.
  • Calculate payroll wages, deductions, and taxes, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Manage the annual benefits renewal process, including Open Enrollment meetings. Work with the insurance broker and insurance carriers to resolve issues as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as well as legal requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations.

Employee Relations:

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns.
  • Participate in employee engagement initiatives to enhance morale and retention.

Training and Development:

  • Coordinate training programs to enhance employee skills and performance.
  • Identify training needs within the organization and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Monitor training effectiveness and make adjustments as necessary.

Performance Management:

  • Manage the annual performance appraisal processes.
  • Provide guidance to managers on performance feedback and goal setting.
  • Identify opportunities for employee development and advancement.

Recruitment and Selection:

  • Oversee HR personnel in the recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, and interviews.
  • Collaborate with department heads to identify staffing needs and develop recruitment strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations.
Requirements

Skills, Qualifications and Attributes:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other related field
  • 4+ years experience in a similar role within a Human Resources or People Team
  • Experience with HRIS and ATS systems; ideally Paylocity (strongly preferred)
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proven experience in HR management or a related role
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and team management skills
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred
