About the Manager, Finance role

We're hiring our first ever full time finance role which will be central to our strategy and have a front row seat to scaling vertical SaaS business. This person will partner with CEO & leadership, own the entire finance function, build out & own reporting across the business, liaise with the board & other stakeholders. We’re looking for someone who is scrappy, resourceful, excited about what we’re up to and is going to help us build something incredible. 

 

As Manager, Finance, you will:

 

  • Create and manage all financial reporting - monthly, quarterly, and annual

  • Manage our day to day finance functions including payroll, AP, and AR

  • Create all forecasts, financial plans, and budgets 

  • Manage cash flow for the business

  • Advise on capital management decisions

  • Maintain our ESOP plan 

  • Create, maintain and report on business health metrics and KPIs

 

Requirements for this role

  • 4+  years experience working in Accounting, Finance, or Banking

  • Proven track record of strategic thinking

  • Highly proficient in building decks

  • Effective and efficient communicator who can break down complex problems into simple terms 

  • Ability to identify problems before they arise 

  • Proven track record of building cross functional relationships and understanding the ecosystem of a business

 

You’ll be great in this role if:

  • You’ve got the experience. We’re looking for someone who has done this before and can bring their own perspectives and ideas to the table and a track record of building strong finance and accounting functions. 

  • You’re an owner. As our first finance hire, you will define what great looks like in this role at Bear. This means that you need to ensure nothing falls through the cracks, you are proactive in everything you do, and that whatever comes across your desk is better-off by the time you're done with it.

  • You build super hot decks. And are insanely proficient in ppt and google slides.

  • You’re an excellent communicator. You have the ability to convey complex ideas and information clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences while building bridges, not breaking them down. 

  • You have exceptional interpersonal skills. This role will be right in the middle of our business and will touch every part of the organization. You may also sometimes need to deliver tough news or say no. All while maintaining relationships? You can handle it. 

  • Super organized. You are able to manage multiple priorities with a high level of attention to detail.

  • You adapt FAST. To be successful in this role, you must be able to adapt quickly and adjust your strategy on the fly.

  • You thrive with pressure. This is a demanding role, reporting directly to the CEO, which means there will be tight and demanding deadlines.

  • Get shit done, bias for action You have a strong sense of urgency and are able to move quickly.
