About the Marketing Director role

We’re looking for an outstanding Marketer to join our Leadership team. This person will be responsible for building & defining our marketing org at Bear. We've built an extremely successful outbound GTM motion and now need to build the foundations to drive meaningful demand and brand awareness.

The furniture & home category is a greenfield opportunity for a driven & ambitious marketer. Since we're the first company to build a publishing solution specifically designed for furniture & home manufacturers, you'll have little competition to go up against. Our story needs to be amplified & our future customers need to hear it.

This person will be responsible for driving demand, customer acquisition, and will ultimately be measured by revenue impact. You'll work closely with the CEO to own & build the Bear brand.

As the Director, Marketing you will...

  • Help ramp our GTM customer acquisition engine.

  • Grow brand awareness and build our inbound model focused on pipeline, demo conversion, and revenue targets.

  • Lead the strategic development and execution of full-lifecycle campaigns, with a focus on demand and new customer acquisition.

  • Lead all content creation and built out The Den into the most exciting & trusted source for media in the furniture and home industry

  • Work very closely with Sales to create a seamless prospect experience at every interaction point, and then partner with Success to ensure an equally seamless experience once they become a customer.

  • Own all events marketing and trade shows; this is a major channel of pipeline for Bear.

You’ll be great in this role if:

  • You’ve got the experience. To be successful in this role, we’re looking for 5+ years of prior marketing leader experience with a track record of delivering results. You have strong experience managing a budget, a roster of marketers, writers, and creators, and have a very sound understanding of GTM & business strategy. You also have experience in scaling a team, segment or start up.

  • You’re an owner. As our first marketing hire, you will define what great looks like in this role at Bear. This means that you need to ensure nothing falls through the cracks, you are proactive in everything you do, and that whatever comes across your desk is better-off by the time you're done with it.

  • You’re an excellent communicator. You have the ability to convey complex ideas and information clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences. You have exceptional writing skills and can easily create compelling & visually appealing memos, presentations, and reports.

  • You are an active listener who is able to understand our customers, their needs, and their pain points.
You have exceptional interpersonal skills. You will need to build strong relationships across the business, with all our customers, and channel partners (AKA Wayfair, Perigold, Houzz, and so on). You'll also need to build relationships with industry publications & tradeshows as we position ourselves as THE incumbent software solution for all furniture & home.

  • Super organized. You are able to manage multiple priorities with a high level of attention to detail.

  • You adapt FAST. To be successful in this role, you must be able to adapt quickly and adjust your strategy on the fly.

  • You thrive with pressure. This is a demanding role, reporting directly to the CEO, which means there will be tight and demanding deadlines.

  • Get shit done, bias for action You have a strong sense of urgency and are able to move quickly.

What YOU bring to the table:

  • You are an expert in brand positioning & brand awareness.

  • Proficient with Hubspot Marketing.

  • Experience implementing a content & video marketing strategy.
