Job Description

As a Software Quality Analyst II, your responsibilities include the manual testing of new features within an Agile delivery team, looking for issues within our products that customers may encounter and work with other people within the organization to become a subject matter expert.

This position can be fulfilled either in person or remote, however for successful collaboration with our New Zealand and European teams, we will be accepting applications from candidates located within the Pacific Standard Time Zone.

Qualities Needed to Be Successful in the Role

  • Highly analytical and detailed approach to work - defining testing approaches for a number of different software products
  • An ability to manage workload - can work autonomously within the team, and be expected to be proactive in suggesting improvements and refinements to existing processes, tools and output
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - can provide detailed scenarios for testing, and for the recreation of bugs - both for a technical and non-technical audience
  • Provide positive and constructive contributions to the team - Quality is an essential part of the development process, and you will be expected to be creative in your ability to define test cases for testing as well as recommend improvements to be made by all team members
  • An awareness of industry trends and techniques - not only from the customer perspective, but testing tools and processes that should be adopted as they evolve

Role Responsibilities

  • Help plan testing efforts for large or high risk projects by estimating, prioritizing, planning and coordinating testing activities
  • Execute manual tests for native mobile applications, web applications and apis/services
  • Create and maintain well-structured manual test cases
  • Participate in agile ceremonies
  • Record and track defects in Jira
  • Identify & communicate impediments that can risk test activity and/or success of the project
  • Adhere to the Quality organization best practices


  • 4+ years of experience manually testing web or mobile applications
  • Working knowledge of the Software development Life Cycle and the importance of the Quality role
  • Strong knowledge of software quality methodologies, tools, and processes (black box, white box, system, functional, exploratory and automated testing)
  • Strong analytical skills, strong judgment and ability to understand complex business problems quickly
  • Ability to rapidly learn new technologies based on business needs
