Job Description

We’re looking for a mid to senior level mechanical engineer to join the awesome CO6 team to help us develop and build next gen public safety robots. These are small, throwable vision robots that are SaaS, IoT, Mobile driven products to protect those who put themselves in harm’s way. You, as the joining Mechanical Engineer, will operate in many capacities at our small company, inventing and tinkering, with a focus on design through mass production. You will coordinate with other engineering disciplines and vendors to help in every stage in the design of the robots and off to mass production for Company Six’s innovative RaaS (Robots as a Service).

What You Will Be Doing:

  • All phases and facets of mechanical design of a consumer electronic product
  • Learn, develop, and extend the product functionality from cradle to grave. Early brainstorming to field diagnostics
  • Build relationships with and manage vendors through all phases of work, challenges and productivity
  • Implement and maintain best practices around QA/QC
  • Help debug and troubleshoot issues that arise with our products
  • Work with senior engineering staff and the product team to prototype and explore new features and functionality
  • Contribute to improvements that make all CO6 engineers' lives easier, not harder
  • Work as a team using all tools and communication means in a positive manner

Desired Skills:

  • Experience working with electrical engineering and manufacturing to create small form factor designs
  • Good fundamental understanding of mechanism design and analysis, free body diagrams, force balancing, gear reductions, and failure analysis.
  • Experience with thermal & flow analysis (CFD) and structural (FEA) analysis simulations and real world verification
  • Design of injection molded, sheet metal, machined, and 3D printed parts
  • Material selection (polymers, thermoplastics, rubbers and metals)
  • Basic understanding of injection mold tooling design and process
  • Working with automated systems, sensing and actuation, closed loop control systems

We’d be particularly delighted to hire someone who:

  • Thrives in an autonomous, remote-first, async, startup team environment
  • Desire to own the product experience and help make it great
  • Have fun playing with robots all day


  • 4-7 Years of experience in mechanical engineering
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar or equivalent experience
  • Proven successful experience taking a product from prototype to mass production. At least 2 times.
  • US Citizenship required

Other important details:

Location: This position can be remote or hybrid onsite at our beautiful Boulder Colorado office. While our headquarters is in Boulder, we have employees located in many locations throughout the world and we encourage you to thrive where you are with us with occasional HQ visits. US citizenship is required.

Compensation: The salary range for this role is 80,000 - 110,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills and certifications. Per CO EPEW Act 2020.
